Erana Kratounis is a New York-based new media artist and animator. Blending nature’s intelligence with a deep interest in animism, panpsychism, and technology, she creates digital works that explore worlds just beyond perception.
Born and raised in New York City, her early distance from nature paradoxically deepened her imaginative connection to it. Inspired by fellow earthlings, seasonal cycles, and both physical and metaphysical realms, her work evokes the meditative presence of being in nature, inviting viewers into a state of heightened awareness where the sense of separation begins to dissolve.
Working at the intersection of technology, nature, and consciousness, Kratounis creates immersive, multi-sensory experiences. Her work has been exhibited in both physical and virtual contexts, including 13 Trees (solo exhibition, NYC, 2024), Destination Ditmars (NYC, 2025), Regen•era Rising 2 (San Francisco, 2024), the Buckminster Fuller Institute 40th Anniversary Celebration (San Francisco, 2023), and Regen•era Rising (Miami Art Week / Art Basel, 2021), among others.
